The New PRO_SAP Editions: Core and Advanced
For new licenses starting from 2026, PRO_SAP is no longer offered as a set of individually purchasable modules, but rather as two pre-configured editions:
- PRO_SAP Core: Encompasses all structural design and drafting functionalities, covering the “standard” implementation of the software.
- PRO_SAP Advanced: Extends the Core with advanced analysis capabilities (nonlinear analysis, pushover analysis, construction staging, failure mechanisms, etc.).
Both editions are available:
- in Subscription mode (annual rental)
- in perpetual license mode (purchase)
in LT (750 nodes) and Professional (unlimited nodes) versions.
PRO_SAP Core Edition
The Core Edition represents the standard configuration of PRO_SAP for structural design and drafting.
In terms of “legacy” modules, the Core Edition comprises:
- Base Module
- Module 1
- Module 2
- Module 3
- Module 4
- Module 5
- Module 7
- Module 9
PRO_SAP Advanced Edition
The Advanced Edition extends the Core with advanced tools for structural analysis and behavioral evaluation.
In terms of “legacy” modules, the Advanced Edition includes:
- all Core Edition modules
- Module 6
- Module 8
- Module 10
- PRO_SAM
- PRO_CINEM
Thematic Bundles: Concrete_PRO and Steel_PRO
Alongside the editions, two specialized bundles are available.
Concrete_PRO: Bundle dedicated to advanced verification and local interventions on reinforced concrete structures.
Steel_PRO: Bundle dedicated to steel structures, advanced section verification, and integration with connection design software.
Concrete_PRO Bundle
Is the bundle dedicated to advanced verification and rehabilitation of reinforced concrete structures, with particular emphasis on local interventions, structural safety, and Italian regulatory compliance.
The Concrete_PRO bundle includes the following “legacy” programs:
- PRO_ILC: Local interventions and constructive details.
- PRO_MST: Design and verification of reinforced concrete retaining walls.
- PRO_SMB: Seismic risk classification.
- PRO_CIS: Static suitability certification.
- PRO_SAFE: Support loss verification for precast elements.
- PRO_VLIM Evolution: Advanced reinforced concrete section analysis, including FRP and fire resistance verification.
Steel_PRO Bundle
Steel_PRO is the bundle dedicated to design and advanced verification of steel structures, with robust integration toward specialized environments for connection design.
The Steel_PRO bundle includes the following “legacy” programs and plugins:
- PRO_CSE: Plugin for automatic export to Connection Study Environment (C.S.E.).
- PRO_IDEA: Plugin for automatic export to IDEA StatiCa.
- PRO_SMB: Seismic risk classification.
- PRO_CIS: Static suitability certification.
- PRO_CL4: Classification and verification of Class 4 steel sections.
- PRO_SAFE: Support loss verification for precast elements.
Bundle Delivery Modality
Important: The Concrete_PRO and Steel_PRO bundles are available exclusively in Subscription mode (rental) and cannot be purchased as perpetual licenses.
What Happens If You Already Owned a Modular PRO_SAP License?
This is the point that has generated the most inquiries: the modules you own do not change.
If you previously purchased a PRO_SAP license comprised of individual modules:
- you continue to possess exactly those modules
- you do not need to “convert” anything
- you can add new modules or rent bundles
The modular logic remains valid for existing licenses.
What Actually Changes: The Update Fee
The only aspect that is realigned with the new structure is the annual update fee.
- Advanced fee applies to those who possessed a configuration equivalent to the current Advanced, specifically: base module, modules 1–2–3–4–5–6–7–8–9–10, PRO_SAM, PRO_CINEM
- Core fee applies to those who had any other configuration
This realignment serves only to align the fee with the functional level of the license and does not modify the installed modules in any way.
Summary
- The new editions and bundles do not supersede legacy licenses
- Existing customers retain their previously purchased modules
- No automatic conversion exists
- Only the update fee changes, realigned to Core (or other configurations) and Advanced based on the owned configuration
